The House Tour. Green’s Mountain House is surrounded by forest and situated on a quiet, rural roadside just minutes from Hunter Mountain. Stony Clove Creek runs the length of the property and babbles in the background.
Built in 1920, the 2017-2019 renovation has kept the house's original charm while adopting modern amenities and comforts. Updates include a new roof (2018), new well (2018), new appliances (2018) and much more.
Enter from the breezeway into the open plan kitchen and dining area. The whole house dazzles in white, in contrast to the dining room’s accent walls with chic and saturated hues. The kitchen's Boos Block CounterTops, new Wolf cabinetry and farmhouse sink have a backdrop of crisp subway tiles and exposed beams.
The living room is likely where you'll spend late summer nights and cozy winter evenings by the wood stove. Aside from the half bath with laundry room downstairs, the rest of the house continues upstairs, with serene, minimalist interiors and natural light. There are four bedrooms with a mix of whitewashed walls, wood accent walls and tastefully selected fixtures. There is one shared full bathroom upstairs with a walk-in shower.
Imagine this 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom as your weekend escape or also as an ideal short-term vacation rental.
The Grounds. Off the kitchen, the deck stretches out toward the stream and forest.
Grill and tell stories into the evening.
Located off of a main road yet surrounding by forest.
The Area. You can grill with the sunset, or head into nearby Phoenicia or Woodstock to dine out. Located in the Catskill Mountains, the property is truly a launch pad for the outdoors-inclined - hiking, fishing, tubing, river trips, foraging, summer festivals, snowshoeing, and of course, skiing and snowboarding 12 minutes away.
Minimalist rustic design meets original farmhouse details in this Lanesville ski house.
