The House Tour. Sturdy wood beams meet playful Bavarian details in a living space where hardwood floors dance beneath your feet and rich wood paneling whisper tales of yesteryear. The room doesn't just have character—it practically winks at you.
To the left, there is a quaint kitchen with stainless steel appliances and custom vintage cabinetry. An oversized window allows light to spill into the kitchen, while vaulted ceilings with exposed beams create an airy and welcoming atmosphere. At the other end of the space, a wood burning stove set in a stone hearth anchors a cozy seating area.
Up a flight of stairs, a lofted second story stretches into the vaulted ceiling space, creating additional space to gather, create, host. Currently utilized as a home theater with a pull-down projector screen, the loft space can serve as a library, music room, work from home space and more.
Back downstairs, two cozy bedrooms share a recently renovated, modern bathroom, complete with a walk-in rainfall shower and a deep soaking tub.
The Grounds. Greet the day on the cabin's expansive front deck, stretching the full length of the home. This natural extension of the kitchen creates a perfect spot for mountain-fresh meals during warmer months. At the deck's far end, a screened porch—reachable from both inside and out—invites gatherings well into the crisp fall evenings.
As daylight fades, retreat to the screened sanctuary with a drink in hand as the forest symphony plays around you. Or wander to the fire pit where flames dance beneath a canopy of stars, marshmallows turning golden on their sticks.
The two acres of moss-carpeted boulders and evergreen hemlocks invite you to wander, whether on foot during summer or snowshoes when winter transforms the landscape into a quiet wonderland.
The Area. Located at the top of Slide Mountain, Slide Mountain Chalet offers central access to everything the Catskills region has to offer—all just over two hours from the George Washington Bridge. Walk five minutes to State land trails leading to the West Branch of the Neversink River. Drive two minutes to the Slide Mountain trail and five minutes to the Giant Ledge trail, with its iconic views. Within twenty minutes, find yourself skiing at Belleayre Mountain, hiking the Giant Ledge/Slide Mountain trail, enjoying dinner at Eastwind Oliverea's Dandelion, grabbing a drink from the bar at Urban Cowboy Lodge, relaxing at Hemlock Neversink’s spa, and more.
